On Wednesday, March 13, all GCPS 3rd grade students took a trip to TC Walker Education Center to attend the Virginia Repertory Theatre production of Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad. The production was the final one in the series for the theatre troop, which they were very excited to perform at the TC Walker Education Center. The students were wonderfully engaged audience participants and were on the edges of their seats during the production. At the end of the production, students asked insightful questions about Harriet Tubman’s life and how this production impacted each member of the theatre troop. GCPS would like to thank Concerts by the Bay for providing the financial support to bring this production to our students by way of funding they received through the Gloucester Community Foundation.
Two Odyssey of the Mind teams, coached by Ashley Nemo and Erica Harvey from Achilles, competed on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the regional competition at Menchville High School. Achilles' 4th and 5th Grade Odyssey of the Mind students placed 1st at the Regional Competition. Best of luck at the State competition on April 6th at Tuscarora High School in Leesburg, VA. Well done!
