What purpose does the Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee serve?

The primary purpose of the Career & Technical Education Advisory Committee is to advise, assist, and
provide support and advocacy for quality education. The CTEAC advises the School Board and staff on
policies, procedures, and methods, which help strengthen educational programs.


 

Who can serve on the Committee?

The CTEAC is composed of members who volunteer their time, talents, and knowledge to help
strengthen educational programs. Members are appointed by the School Board to serve one‐year terms.
The committee meets three to four times each school year and makes recommendations to the School
Board for consideration. The CTEAC recommendations are advisory only; all final decisions rest solely
with division staff and School Board.


 

When does the committee meet?

Meetings are quarterly and are virtual at this time. The meeting time is 3‐4 p.m.

What happens at a Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee meeting?

Meetings may consist of CTE program updates/pathways; Rappahannock Community College
updates/shared information; CTE reports/data, and questions/concerns from our members
related to CTE.
