The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE), in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Health, has produced two videos to inform parents and school personnel of the steps they can take to prevent the spread of H1N1 A Influenza (also known as "swine flu") and seasonal influenza. The videos - "H1N1 for Parents" and "H1N1 for Educators" - are available for viewing on the VDOE H1N1 A Influenza Web site at this address: http://www.doe.virginia.gov/support/health_medical/influenza/index.shtml#vdoe_guidance.
T.C. Walker Elementary School Receives Top Honor! Governor Timothy Kaine awarded 153 Virginia public schools the 2010 Governor’s Award for Educational Excellence. This is the highest honor under the Virginia Index of Performance incentive program to promote advanced learning and achievement. Schools must meet all benchmarks for at least two consecutive years, among other criteria. T.C. Walker was the only Gloucester County school to receive this honor!
