Gloucester County Public Schools participate in several Governor's Schools supported by the Virginia Department of Education.

The Summer Residential Governor's Schools

    For Highly Motivated and Talented Students
    ** Interested in or with an aptitude for MATH, SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY
    ** For Sophomore -- Juniors and Seniors
    ** Attend CBGS for half the school day -- and GHS classes in the afternoon

  • Governor's School for Science and Technology

    Providing a Distinguished Science Curriculum to the Region's Gifted High School Students
    ** Science and Mathematics Half Day Program for Juniors and Seniors
    ** Held at New Horizons Education Center
    ** Two-Year -- Half Day Program

  • Middle Peninsula Summer Regional Governor's School
     ** For Gifted Students Currently in Grades 3-7
     ** Sponsored by Virginia Department of Education
     ** Problem-Based Classes
  • Summer Residential Governor's Schools
    For Gifted High School Juniors and Seniors in Specific Programs
    Experiences in:
    ** Visual & Performing Arts -- Humanities -- Mathematics
    ** Life Science and Medicine
    ** Or Mentorships in Marine Science or Engineering
